Was ist die PPWR?

Die PPWR-Verordnung ist ein neues EU-Regelwerk für Verpackungen und Verpackungsabfälle. Sie tritt am 12. August 2026 ohne Umwege in Kraft und somit ersetzt sie die bisherige Richtlinie 94/62/EG. Im Gegensatz zu einer Richtlinie gilt eine Verordnung unmittelbar wirkend in allen Mitgliedstaaten. Betroffen von der neuen Verordnung sind nahezu alle Verpackungsarten – von Kunststoff über Papier bis Glas und Metall. Nur sehr wenige Ausnahmen, beispielsweise bestimmte medizinische Produkte, sollen in Zukunft von den Regeln verschont bleiben.

Was müssen Unternehmen bis zum Start der PPWR am 12.08.2026 mindestens erledigt haben?

Bis zum Beginn der Anwendung müssen die zentralen Grundlagen stehen: Insbesondere Konformitätserklärung, Kennzeichnungspflichten sowie relevante Stoffbeschränkungen (inkl. PFAS) und die dazugehörige Nachweislogik.

Welche Rollen können Unternehmen nach der PPWR gleichzeitig haben und warum ist das wichtig?

Je Verpackungsfall können mehrere Rollen zutreffen (z. B. Vertreiber und „Hersteller” im PPWR-Sinn). Daraus ergeben sich unterschiedliche Pflichten, die sauber abgegrenzt und dokumentiert werden müssen.

Welche Daten benötigen Unternehmen für die PPWR-Umsetzung typischerweise aus der Lieferkette?

Für Konformität und Dokumentation werden Informationen zu Verpackungen/Materialien sowie Nachweise zur Einhaltung von Anforderungen benötigt; fehlende Lieferantendaten sind ein häufiger Engpass. CONSUST hilft, diese Datenanforderungen strukturiert zu definieren und einzusammeln.
