CONSUST EUDR Consulting: The Easiest Path to EUDR Compliance
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) presents companies with new challenges—and significant pressure to act. The EUDR requires companies to ensure that certain raw materials and products have been produced in a deforestation-free and legally compliant manner. The good news: With CONSUST’s EUDR consulting services, you can achieve compliance quickly, reliably, and efficiently. We combine technical expertise with digital solutions and guide you from the initial assessment through to the implementation of all regulatory requirements.

EUDR BASICS
What is the EUDR?
To combat ongoing global deforestation, the EU has established a binding legal framework. The EUDR (EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products) is an EU regulation that took effect in June 2023. It requires companies to ensure that certain raw materials and products are not linked to deforestation or forest degradation. The goal is to combat deforestation worldwide by allowing only products that are verifiably deforestation-free to be traded on the EU market.
Who is affected by the EUDR?
This applies to all companies that trade in the following raw materials and products manufactured from them (see Annex 1 of the EUDR Regulation):
The effective dates are staggered as follows:
December 30, 2025: Large and Medium-Sized Companies
June 30, 2026: Micro and Small Businesses

What does the EUDR require?
Relevant raw materials may be placed on the market, made available, or exported only if they:
A product is considered deforestation-free if it does not come from areas that were deforested after December 31, 2020. For wood products, this also means that the wood does not come from forests that have suffered forest damage—such as from unsustainable use—after December 31, 2020.
What are the consequences of EUDR violations?
Companies face the following penalties if noncompliance is discovered during unannounced inspections:

How do the EUDR obligations differ?
The specific EUDR requirements vary depending on a company’s size and position in the value chain:
For SMEs, items B and C are subject only to a documentation requirement. Our EUDR consulting services help you correctly determine your role and implement it in a legally compliant manner.
EUDR IMPLEMENTATION
We offer software-based EUDR consulting
CONSUST offers a structured, software-supported process for all phases of EUDR implementation—from risk analysis to the due diligence statement and public reporting.

1
Project
setup
The first step involves reviewing the relevant raw materials and products and determining the company’s position in the value chain in order to identify information needs and pinpoint existing gaps based on this analysis.
2
Data
Management
In the second step, the relevant information (e.g., quantity, geodata) is collected in consultation with suppliers; or, in the case of simplified due diligence, the due diligence statements from upstream suppliers are obtained.
3
Risk
assessment
The risk of deforestation is analyzed using satellite imagery; subsequently, an abstract risk analysis and risk monitoring are conducted, and suppliers’ due diligence statements and processes are reviewed.
4
Risk
Mitigation
If necessary, a request for additional information—such as process descriptions—will be made, followed by the implementation of additional measures such as on-site audits, assessments, or training sessions.
5
Due Diligence
Statement
Finally, the due diligence statement is prepared and made available via Traces upload; the relevant information is retained for five years, and large companies are required to report this information publicly.
